Character Stats

The character statistics on Naruto Royale don't use direct dozens of numbers to calculate a character's worth. We use simple ranks to give comparison to the canon characters and so we don't have low-ranking ones unreasonably teleporting around or throwing bijuu with ease. There are 6 stats related to canon character differences between each other, and for the most part they don't need to be taken into account during normal RPing.

  1. Chakra
  2. Stamina
  3. Strength
  4. Speed
  5. Health
  6. Instinct

Stat Distribution
Each ninja rank has 2 base stat "points" to allocate that are their "level", while every other stat is always at base E-rank/Student. The 2 base stats of one's level can be traded around to achieve higher level stats at a lower rank. Each rank up gives 2 more stats to allocate.

Every stat point used increases a stat, with all stats being at academy student level at base.

  1. One stat point used increases a stat to genin level.
  2. Two stat points used increases a stat to chuunin level.
  3. Three stat points used increases a stat to jounin level.
  4. Four stat points used increases a stat to elder/A-rank/S-rank level.

Total Stats

  1. D-rank/Genin: Have 2 stat points to allocate.
  2. C-rank/Chuunin: 2 stats are gained, have 4 stat points to allocate.
  3. B-rank/Jounin: 2 stats are gained, have 6 stat points to allocate.
  4. A-rank/S-rank/Elder/Kage: 2 stats are gained, have 8 stat points to allocate.

Example
If one was a Elder or Kage, an individual would have 8 "points" that could be distributed throughout their stats through lowering their stat focus from the 2 base stats they're granted. If they wanted to be well-rounded, they could have 4 chuunin stats.

Stat Training
Some characters unlock their physical potential early or have a natural gift without the resources of a higher rank. Stat training on Naruto Royale is done to increase a character's stats to a higher level earlier, and to what they'd obtain when ranking up.

  1. Stats can be trained to a higher rank through doing a 5,000 word count for 1 stat a member wishes to train to a higher rank.
  2. This can be done twice for a total of 10,000 words. If not done twice, a member's second stat is simply gained from ranking up per normal.
  3. The training carries to higher ranks and stats will always be one rank above until capped at Elder-rank or Kage.

Jutsu Stats

By default, all custom/canon jutsu have base stats for their rank, and they are INDEPENDENT of character statistics. If approved otherwise, they still have the base stats for their rank.

Examples:
A/S: Have Elder/A-rank/S-rank stats which are all equal.
B: Have B-rank/Jounin stats which are all equal.
C: Have C-rank/Chuunin stats which are all equal.
D: Have D-rank/Genin stats which are all equal.
E: Have E-rank/Student stats which are all equal.

Characters gain 1 level for JUTSU STATS if their chakra/speed/strength (speed kugutsu/weaponry, strength taijutsu) stat is a level above along with +1 advantage (not applying to physical jutsu), but stat boosts never grow in strength. Contact, self, genjutsu, sensing, kuchiyose, cloning techniques, and clan dojutsu have no speed mainly even if approved otherwise.

Advantages and Boosts

Advantages are what determine if a jutsu defeats another jutsu if their levels are the same, and advantages give more range, speed, power, or extra effects to all jutsu. All these stat boosts are called "advantages" on Naruto Royale and all jutsu should be assumed to be automatically at 6 maximum advantages that can give +6 to each stat if they can be argued to be. Stat boosts will never determine the final outcome of a fight either way. LEVEL increases from E, D, C, B, A-S are not available from custom jutsu. Besides normally disabled jutsu, custom stat boosts never give direct level increases, and they only give advantages.

There are 6 common ways to give jutsu advantages, and a jutsu can only have a maximum of +6 advantages. Canon jutsu that aren't registered each have these advantages if logical such as Body Flicker Technique to increase speed. The only advantage on the site that stacks with stat boosts are mission instinct advantages.

If jutsu are incorrectly perceived as less advantages at an earlier topic, they aren't forced to stay that way.

    These ways mostly give +1 advantage to a jutsu, for a maximum of 6 even for those with 2. All jutsu can be argued to give more advantages for a maximum of 6, and there is simply always a maximum of +6 advantages.
  1. Generic Boosts: Body Flicker Technique, strength increasing techniques, jutsu armor, or clear boosts can give 2.
  2. Elemental Superiority: Water Release beats Fire Release for example.
  3. Cooperation Jutsu: Techniques such as collaboration barriers or combined attacks that are established to require another individual to create a jutsu.
    Example: The Four Violet Flames Formation used by the Sound Four.
  4. 1+1: Chakra/strength/speed give an advantage if a character's rank is above a specific jutsu's.
    Example: Chuunin-level chakra would give a D-rank non-physical specialty jutsu a +1 advantage.
  5. Multi-Specialties: Combining 2+ equal specialties in techniques.
    Example: Combining taijutsu with ninjutsu in Lightning Release Armor.
  6. Derived Jutsu: Lastly, "derived" jutsu that require a prior technique to be learned can give 2.
    Example: Wind Release: Rasenshuriken requires Rasengan and Wind Release: Rasengan to be learned first.


Note:
Chakra, strength, and speed do not have to be equal to the jutsu they boost, but taijutsu/bukijutsu/kugutsu/jutsu all have stats independent from the 3 stats.

Statistics Properties

Chakra
One of the six stats. The chakra stat on this site is chakra control, or chakra strength, and what determines how low-ranking jutsu can get higher power simply by having the stat.

For some mental techniques like genjutsu, chakra determines defense.

Chuunin-level chakra is required to use S-rank jutsu that aren't Taijutsu, Weaponry, or Kugutsu. Chakra that's a level higher than a non-physical jutsu gives it a +1 level increase along with +1 advantage. A-rank and S-rank jutsu cannot have their level increased to Bijuu/Juubi normally unless disabled jutsu are used.

Example
Using a B-rank level jutsu or "jounin" jutsu would increase it's rank to [A-rank +1 advantage] if a member has A-rank/Elder/Kage level for their base stat independent from the jutsu.

Stamina
One of the six stats. Stamina on this site is simply a member's actual chakra pool used for determining how many jutsu, weapon abilities, or bloodline abilities they can use in one topic.

On a more basic level, stamina is physical and mental endurance. Stamina can be restored artificially through Soldier Ration Pills only. If a member wants to naturally restore their stamina, they can simply rest for 3 posts to restore half as long as they don't fight. Stamina is automatically fully restored upon entering a new topic normally.

Stamina Costs

Stamina Pool
All character ranks don't start with any extra chakra than others unless they have more in their stamina stat. EVERY STAMINA RANK has +200 in stamina from the last rank, with academy students having 200 base in stamina. Therefore, if nothing is invested into a stamina stat, a member has 200 stamina.

Advantages: Each +1 advantage permanently gives +100 to stamina pools for the rest of a topic, not increased by clones.

  1. E-rank/Student: 200
  2. D-rank/Genin: 400
  3. C-rank/Chuunin: 600
  4. B-rank/Jounin: 800
  5. A-rank/S-rank/Sannin/Elder: 1000
  6. Bijuu/Juubi: 10000

Base Stamina Costs

  1. E-rank: 10
  2. D-rank: 20
  3. C-rank: 30
  4. B-rank: 40
  5. A-rank: 50
  6. S-rank: 60

Upkeep Stamina Costs

  1. E-rank: No Upkeep
  2. D-rank: 10
  3. C-rank: 15
  4. B-rank: 20
  5. A-rank: 25
  6. S-rank: 30, village-level defenses require collaborators and resting without fighting.

Stamina Recovery

Strength
One of the six stats. Power from one's physical body is translated as simply strength on Naruto Royale, and can give advantages to taijutsu. Lifting power and striking strength among other basic things are measured by strength. Strength is used to measure normal taijutsu as well, and at higher levels the stat can allow a character to be equal to chakra techniques.

When an item or weapon has strength, a member's strength stat is replaced by the weapon's. A/S/Elder strength is required to destroy jutsu completely upon a strike making contact and the opposing jutsu cannot have any advantages.

Strength that's a level higher than taijutsu gives it a +1 level increase along with +1 advantage. A-rank and S-rank jutsu cannot have their level increased to Bijuu/Juubi normally unless disabled jutsu are used.

Example
Using a B-rank level jutsu or "jounin" jutsu would increase it's rank to [A-rank +1 advantage] if a member has A-rank/Elder/Kage level for their base stat independent from the jutsu.

Speed
One of the six stats. Speed is related to all parts of the body, and can give advantages to weaponry or kugutsu jutsu. How fast one can move and their hand seal speed are determined by a member's speed.

Speed, instinct, and no character has "reaction time" on Naruto Royale to speed kill others. A member's speed being a level above their opposition will have them always being argued faster in pure taijutsu fights instead, but jutsu are still always available.

Speed that's a level higher than bukijutsu or kugutsu gives them a +1 level increase along with +1 advantage. A-rank and S-rank jutsu cannot have their level increased to Bijuu/Juubi normally unless disabled jutsu are used.

Example
Using a B-rank level jutsu or "jounin" jutsu would increase it's rank to [A-rank +1 advantage] if a member has A-rank/Elder/Kage level for their base stat independent from the jutsu.

Health
One of the six stats. The health of an individual is not a HP bar on Naruto Royale, and it's a stat mainly shared with jutsu. Having a personal health stat gives pain tolerance and resistance to poison unlike jutsu as well.

What health does mainly is allow an individual to have natural durability, but it cannot block everything just as jutsu health cannot block everything. The health stat is the default defense of a character, and the ranks of health are the same as jutsu.

If health is bypassed through internal means or strength surpasses health, an opposition can do whatever damage they'd like reasonably. When facing opposing jutsu, a member's health isn't applicable for durability if they have a defense of higher health.

Instinct
The final stat. Instinct is a sort of sixth sense that gives minor higher intellect, or main character power. NPC don't usually have this stat. Instinct is compared to another character's instinct, and only allows OCCASIONAL metagaming for tactical purposes. Having advantages in instinct allows an individual to use their instinct stat more frequently against those a level higher in instinct if they have less advantages.

Example: Genin-level +2 advantages instinct against Chuunin-level no advantages instinct, the genin-level instinct can preemptively understand an opponent's jutsu more frequently but not dozens of times.

INSTINCT is only simple precognition, and is the reason why reaction time is not needed on Naruto Royale. It allows any character to understand an opponent's first move at least. Precognition cannot change prior actions or save a person from defeat though, and it only allows for characters to more easily understand the environment around them.

Statistics Levels

There are 6 levels for stats that are compared to canon Naruto characters and their feats.

E-rank/Student
Academy students on this site are considered a cut above the real world in their capabilities, and borderline supernatural. From a young age, they can be found beating up their more normal peers consistently while they have more aspirations.

D-rank/Genin
All average canon genin accomplishments are possible and characters are comfortably supernatural in their abilities. Bullying any normal citizen is easy for a genin. Creating cracks in the ground and phasing out of sight can be done infrequently by genin as they employ their supernatural capabilities.

C-rank/Chuunin
Sound Four, Hinata, and Sai can be found here. Clear training and focus can be found in the movements of the ninja with this level. Chuunin can easily oversee exams and even the most shining genin at the start of the series are only compared to mere chuunin. Normal attacks can be brushed off their body, they can manifest simple destruction to their environment, and their movements can become hard to follow.

B-rank/Jounin
Rock Lee, Kimimaro, and Sakura are superb B-rank combatants. The potential of the member's character has been unlocked. They have found their focus for fighting and they are a master at their physical capabilities. Civilian wounds don't faze them, destruction to their environment becomes easy, and they become capable of disposing of dozens of normal people in the blink of an eye.

A-rank/S-rank/Sannin/Elder
Raikage, Itachi, and Killer B are shining examples. Stats at this rank are the most sought-for shinobi feats. Facing a bijuu through strength isn't impossible, near-bijuu levels reserves can be spotted, complete immunity to pain, and minimally affecting the environment through flexing one's chakra are all possible. Naruto databooks have established that there's no concrete power difference between A-rank and S-rank.

Bijuu/Juubi
This stat cannot normally be reached. Juubi Jinchuuriki and Eighth Gate Guy are the cream of the crop at this tier. The most legendary and improbable feats are now possible. Defeating bijuu easily through strength alone, foresight, and immunity to offensive medical ninjutsu all become commonplace. Constantly supernatural abilities are found at this tier, and members have no limit on canon physical traits.
